Agathe Leroy is a Montreal-based artist, she is currently finishing a degree in Fine Arts at the University of Concordia. She grew up in Hong Kong in a French and Russian household. From a young age, Agathe questioned herself about her identity and in particular her cultural identity. This quest translated in an interest for narration in her artistic practice among other things. The tensions between a narration and a context provoke questions. Agathe mixes cleverly art with psychology and anthropology, her two other passions. She is always looking for new materials that can inform her concepts, and interactions with eclectic people that contributes to her questionings. Growing by questioning herself and her place in narration is an integral part of her artistic practice. Agathe works in fibres and textile, drawing, print-making and more recently in video production.
